My irreplaceable friend...

Everyone needs a best friend. Best friends are always there for you when your down or having problems. A best friend is the person you can always rely on for anything no matter what. Best friends stick up for you even if you are wrong. Like so many people in this world, I also have a best friend and she is really my soulmate. Over the years we have shared so much and built a relationship that is precious and lasting. With her I can laugh, I can cry, I can say what's on my mind or just be silent. I remember we sometimes had a fight or argument which almost broke our friendship but it turned into a better way after that,since we knew we both did not mean that. I also remember that when we cried, we laughed a few minutes later, I know it sounds crazy but yes, that is who we are. Life can not lack of struggle and difficulty, and I'm so lucky to have her in my tough time. She came as an angel to lift my spirit up and gave me strength to fight against the bad things in my life. She brings love and light, kindness and caring, cheer and support into my life. I will never ever forget our sweet memories, it reminds me of how happy we were when spending time hanging out together for the whole day every weekend. We went to the cinema, went shopping, went to the hair salon, hit on the clubs at night...I truely want to say thank to her for helping me gain confidence in myself to stand alone--and for letting me know she'will always be there. Thanks to her, I know more about myself and she totally made me a better man. I hope that all of the blessings she brings to my life--I can return to her all. People around us always said that me and her look exactly like too drops of water : both in appearance and characteristic. That completely warm my heart up, especially in the winter day here, the distance can not tear our friendship apart. We now still keep in touch by chatting and talking on the phone with each other every night. Hope our friendship will be one of the most important everlasting things in my life.

Invisibility

If I could have a superpower, I'd love to be come an invisible man. Since I was a child, i've watched a lot of movies about invisible people, and I knew I was completely into it. There are so many reasons to explain how I chose this kind of superpower,but the main reason is I love the feeling of being alone walking around or doing something which is out of people's sight. They can not see what I am doing, just me can see them. If I can have this ability in my real life, I might go help some poor miserable people. For example, when the bosses treat unfair to their employees, I'll take money from the bosses and then give it all to their staffs ^^. Besides, I can also have enough ability to travel around the world without paying anything, everything will be free and easy for me to do.

You Raise Me Up

" You raise me up" is one of my favourite songs all the time. It was sung by a lot of artists but I'd love to hear it from Westlife, who is also my best boyband ever. Their sweet voice makes the song more amazing and the way they sing as if the words come straight from their heart. I really like the fact that this song can mean different things and touch people in many different ways.This song is about someone who is always behind someone no matter what happens and gives them the strength to do almost anything. This reminds me of my childhood which is fulfilled with so much sweet memories beside my parents. I can not help crying when listening to this song everytime, especially when I'm far away from my beloved ones. It's awesome. In the other hand, it could be a religious song to someone. It's about how God makes us stronger, and better. He makes us who we are, and who we can be. Or it could be about someone who "lifts us up" especially when we are down. This song is really amazing indeed and it lifts your spirit up actually...

Hamburger

'In such cold weather of California these days, all I just wanna do is sleeping and eating. Just imagine how tasty a hamburger is when you bite it one by one and swallow it into your mouth...I believe hamburger is one of the most famous fast foods in United States. Now I'll start to let you know a little bit more about it by talking about the history of the hamburger. The word hamburger can refer to different things, but our concern here is the sandwich that consists of a patty of beef served inside a roll that has been cut in half. It's so very tasty that I can't help eating day by day since I came here. It is not known for sure what the origin of hamburger is. It is believed that the hamburger got its name from the German town named Hamburg. Hamburg was known for its ground steak. . After 1904, serving hamburgers on buns became the regular way of eating hamburgers.

Nothing to be surprised when saying about the popularity of hamburger. Over the years, hamburgers really became the most popular American food. One reason for its popularity is the way it is served. People think hamburgers on buns is a convenient way to eat them and that it makes the taste much better. Another reason is the growth of the fast food restaurant, McDonald's. Hamburger always remains as the main item in McDonald's menu as well as In-N-Out Burger or Burger King...

" If Only" is one of my favourite romantic movies all the time , I could not count how much tears it did take from me when watching this one. The plot is shortly about a musician woman living in London named Samantha (Hewitt), dies in an accident shortly after she and her boyfriend Ian Wyndham, who is agrief-stricken British businessman had a fight (and nearly broke up), he later gets a chance to relive the day and get back into the past to start all over again, in the hope of changing the events that led up to her getting killed...It ends with a sad ending that the man would rather sacrifice himself to take the death for his girlfriend than seeing her getting accident. I've watched it over and over again without feeling bored. It was beautifully touched and showed us clearlier about the weaknesses of every human person, to love and to be loved ...

Journal 1 : Introduction

Hi, my name is Christine, I'm from Vietnamese. I've just graduated from university in Vietnam few months ago and just came to U.S for almost 4 weeks. Everything is quite difficult to me at the beginning, but I'm gradually getting used to it day by day. Trying to study hard and getting good marks are my priority goals here. Besides, I'm able to make a lot of friends from all over the world and have opportunities to broaden my knowledge in many fields of life. Sometimes there is something that makes me feel depressed or exhausted in my daily life but I always try to cheer myself up and do everything that can lessen my sadness when I'm far away from home. I obviously know that I have to take a long way to go along on my road ahead. But whatever it takes, I will never give up on it.
